Under the National Mission on Edible Oils – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP), the Department of Horticulture, Gujarat offers a 50% cost subsidy for specialized harvesting tools and machinery to registered oil palm farmers. Because oil palm bunches grow on tall palms and require specialized handling, this scheme subsidizes motorized palm cutters, high-reach aluminum harvesting poles, specialized sickle blades, wire ropes, and harvest collection equipment. The subsidy covers 50% of the approved machinery cost up to ₹15,000 to ₹50,000 depending on tool categorization, drastically reducing manual labor and harvesting losses.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Only farmers who have planted and maintain certified Oil Palm orchards in Gujarat are eligible. 2. 7/12 & 8-A records verifying oil palm crop required. 3. Equipment must be purchased from empanelled, authorized dealers with valid GST invoice. 4. One set of harvesting tools per eligible landholder. 5. Online application deadline is 30/11/2026 on i-Khedut.
