Scheme Overview & Benefits
The Agriculture Department of Gujarat provides financial assistance to farmers for installing Solar Power Units/Kits (Solar Fencing Energizer Systems) around agricultural fields. This scheme protects standing crops from extensive damage caused by wild animals (such as nilgai, wild boars, and stray cattle) using safe, non-lethal pulsating electric shocks. Under this scheme, eligible landholding farmers receive 50% subsidy of the total cost or up to ₹15,000 (whichever is lower) for purchasing certified solar energizer kits with solar panel, battery, and controller adhering to government specifications.
Eligibility Criteria
All landholding farmers residing in Gujarat having valid 7/12 and 8-A land records who have not previously availed government subsidy under the Barbed Wire Fencing Scheme (Kantali Tar Fencing). Applications must be submitted online through the i-Khedut portal.
