Scheme Overview & Benefits
A dedicated national mission with an outlay of over Rs. 11,040 Crore to achieve self-reliance (Aatmanirbharta) in domestic edible oil production:
Planting Material Assistance: Subsidy of Rs. 29,000 per hectare for purchasing planting material, drip irrigation, and 4 years of crop maintenance for oil palm cultivation.
Intercropping Aid: Additional assistance of Rs. 5,000 per hectare for intercropping with vegetables/legumes during the juvenile period.
Viability Price Mechanism: The Central Government guarantees a formula-based Viability Price (VP) for Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) to insulate farmers against international edible oil price fluctuations.
