Scheme Overview & Benefits
Comprehensive crop insurance providing risk coverage against non-preventable natural risks (drought, flood, unseasonal rain, pests, diseases, and post-harvest localized calamities). Farmers pay a uniform nominal premium of only 2% for Kharif food and oilseed crops, 1.5% for Rabi crops, and 5% for annual commercial/horticultural crops. The remaining major premium is subsidized by Central and State Governments, with full claims settled via DBT.
